Our name is our claim: we want to be a ZWEITEN HEIMAT for our guests, because home is less a place than a feeling. Nothing whets the appetite like a long walk along the North Sea beach. Luckily, we have just the right offer when you return: our two restaurants will take you on a culinary journey through our wonderful region: our tried-and-tested ESSZIMMER is guaranteed to delight you with fine North German cuisine in a relaxed atmosphere. And our new PESEL offers Frisian cuisine without all the frills in a cosy, rustic ambience.

Just like on the wide beach of St. Peter-Ording, there is plenty of space to relax and unwind at Hotel ZWEITE HEIMAT....in our fireside lounge and our library, you can quickly escape from everyday life with a good holiday book or a little board game - or simply put your feet up by the fireplace and close your eyes for a moment....

JUST FEEL AT HOME

Many nice things are actually quite simple: our small HAUSBARS, where you can help yourself around the clock and as you please. On each floor, they provide our guests with hot and cold drinks, fresh, home-drawn beer, house wine and all kinds of small delicacies for snacking and "survival". Our GIFTBUDE ("Da gift dat wat") takes on this task for our fireside lounge.

PROTECTED NATURE AND BIODIVERSITY

If you want to enjoy nature, you have to protect it. That's why we ask ourselves at every step what we can do to help protect and preserve our wonderful region. For example, we have designed our new outdoor area according to ecological standards to preserve and promote regional biodiversity. One of the results is a beautiful sunny island between our houses, which also provides a little space for us humans to enjoy nature and the fact that it exists.

Behind the dyke and dunes, it attracts visitors all year round with its imposing expanse and diverse offerings: the huge beach of St. Peter-Ording with its famous pile dwellings, its water sports facilities, its dog sections, the Westerhever lighthouse and its endless space for walks.

A NATIONAL PARK RIGHT ON THE DOORSTEP

The largest national park between the North Cape and Sicily is right on our doorstep. The Schleswig-Holstein Wadden Sea National Park protects the fascinating Wadden Sea habitat, which not only harbours over 3,000 species, but is also the area with the most birds in Central Europe. We are (proudly and naturally) an official partner of the national park and would be delighted if you would like to discover it!

ALL DOGS LOVE OUR BEACH

Every dog lover knows that the beach in St. Peter-Ording with its spacious dog areas is a paradise for all four-legged friends! Four-legged friends and their companions also feel right at home at our hotel, because we have thought of them with our dog package and our outdoor dog shower for returning from the beach. Restaurant rules naturally ensure that non-dog owners are not penalised.

AGAINST THE WIND

A sandpit is for playing in! That's probably why all water and beach sports feel equally at home on our huge beach. There's almost nothing you can't try out here with plenty of space and the best conditions. And for the less performance-obsessed: a long walk to the pile of your choice is always a reward...
